    A chance twitter conversation led me to this gem of a collection. Tempted by the historical setting I succumbed to the beautiful cover. I was not let down.

   Ms Gore knows her era well - visit her website - and I was transported through time to a world of Egyptian gods and goddesses, temples and high priestesses, honeyed dates and cleansing oils. And a woman who will never be satisfied by just one man, although Isis does love them all with great intensity. She has great taste too - these men are to die for.
   The premise behind this trilogy took me by surprise. I did find the first book slow in pace, but I was too absorbed by the world of Isis to care. The twist that left me gasping was Isis and The General. I could not believe what she did. Self-preservation is a powerful thing. After that the story flowed effortlessly and I was riveted by the facedown between the men in Isis' life.
   There is more to this trilogy than a love story. Add in reincarnation and mysterious artifacts that cross time and you have excellent value for money. The writing is high quality and full of imagery. I highly recommend Ms Gore's work.

From the Author~ Why three versions of the same Isis story?

Let's call it an exercise to see if I could take on 3 different voices and write in 3 different styles. And then let's blame it on First Readers' feedback. 

I wrote Isis Erotica in response to input from readers who shared that they photocopied the sexy parts of The Red Mirror (formerly Isis) before passing on the book. So why not put together a boiled-down version of the Isis story, cutting out a couple of characters and leaving the adventure and action while pumping up the sex? I like to call this my X-rated version.

Next, in response to my first readers who were uncomfortable with the explicit sex of the original version now titled The Red Mirror, I wrote Isis Beach Read  as a zippier version, cutting characters, simplifying Egyptian names and sanitizing the sex. The sex scenes are still there, but more is left to the reader's imagination. I call this version PG-16. Although I must admit, I would have read this book at 13 and not blushed at all.
